Winning the toss, New Zealand chose to bat and posted a total of 184 runs before being all out in 48.4 overs. Australia fought hard in response but managed only 180 runs in 49.1 overs, falling just 4 runs short. Despite the loss, Australia’s Belinda Clark was named Player of the Match for her outstanding innings of 91 runs.
